We offer a wide range of clubs at lunchtime and after school, run by either staff or external providers.
The clubs on offer may vary each term. Information is sent home termly via Parentmail.
If you wish to take part in a club, please contact the teacher who is running it. Details of external providers, and their costings, are available from the office.
At The Grove we are aware that not all children wish to spend their free time in the same way. Some love running, playing football, using the Playdale etc, whilst others prefer the quieter activity – reading, sitting in the Friendship Garden or just chatting with their friends.
At both KS1 and KS2 we offer Lunch Bunch Clubs. Invited pupils and staff sit and eat their lunches together, play games and learn good strategies for social interactions. After half a term, or longer if needed, the children then join their peers at lunchtimes to practice all their new skills.
We are also very lucky that we have the Miles Of Smiles Club. The whole school voted for the name of this very special log cabin. It is situated near the designated quiet area and is open every lunchtime. When pupils receive an invitation to use the facilities, they are always very excited. Inside they can take part in a range of art and craft activities, read, construct or play a variety of board games. It is a great place to make new friends and enjoy a very different lunch time experience. The launch of the club was in itself very special. We were lucky enough to have some players from Aldershot Football Club come and cut the ribbon. They even spent some time inspiring our budding boys and girls from the Grove football team.
